about

"Absurd" is track #10 from our album "The Scapegoat's Agony". The album title is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.

Synopsis for "Absurd":
Having experienced emotional release in a violent cry of anguish and pain, the unnamed antihero falls back into a state of defiant desolation in the face of society’s shallowness and hypocrisy.

lyrics

You adore what you see
And what you know
You're so narrow-minded
In your everyday show
You believe there's a life
A life after death
And you cling to this
'Til you draw your last breath

I don't care about what you think
Since your life is so absurd
In this brave new fucking world
And your loathsome lessons stink

You're the only creatures
That bury the dead
You write lots of books
For this world gone mad
You believe that your friends
Are with you all day
And their memory of you
Will never pass away

I don't care about what you think
Since your life is so absurd
In this brave new fucking world
And your loathsome lessons stink

Each day you wake up
To fight with yourselves
Being mad in your craze
For more power and wealth
Until one dark night
You're frightened to death
'Cause your mean little mind
Has drawn its last breath

I don't care about what you think
Since your life is so absurd
In this brave new fucking world
And your loathsome lessons stink

I don't care about what you think
Since your life is so absurd
In this brave new fucking world
And your loathsome lessons stink

about

Coma Beach Würzburg, Germany

Shock, chaos, pain, rage and isolation: These are the thematic cornerstones of COMA BEACH’s music. The very title of their debut album, "The Scapegoat's Agony", an ominous-sounding allusion to Samuel Beckett's literary works, already bears the haunting promise of a highly unusual experience. Lurking behind it all, there is a clear-eyed artistic vision rather than a generic punk rock album… ... more
