They nailed me to the cross Next to Jesus Christ A man climbed up to me And stared into my glaring eyes "You'll end up on this cross And I will have much fun!" I spat him in his fucking face And stared up to the sun My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge My eyes began to burn Drying in the heat When suddenly an angel came And stroked my body From head to feet She pulled the nails Out of the cross And caught me as I fell She held my bruised and bloody hands But it was too late My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge They carried me to my vault Followed by an angel weeping They laid me down in a hole Where I would be forever sleeping The last thing that I thought I saw Were pale blue eyes filled with pain The branch that stuck deep in her heart Drowned the world in a crimson stain My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge My mad life was punished But my spirit will take revenge

Fed up with all these people Who love to tell me things That I don't really want to hear Or ever understand This world is so amazing That I could fall asleep With all those babbling, drooling faces It makes me feel so bored Speak to me And I won't listen Wake me up And I won't move So why don't you just shut The hole in your face And disappear Without a trace? But boredom is a good friend Reliable as rain Which starts to fall when you leave the house And stops when you're back again And every silver lining Turns out to be a fake A bitter-tasting, uneatable Abominable cake Speak to me And I won't listen Slash me up And I won't bleed So why don't you just take Your dumb-numb face And disappear Without a trace? So if I ever told you "You're more than just a friend!" Forget about it, I lied to you As you reached out for my hand And all you fucking would-be saints Who live to work, to earn and die Go on and live your little lives And don't forget to forget this lie Speak to me And I won't listen Beat me up I won't even sigh So why don't you just wipe That grin from your face And disappear Without a trace? Speak to me And I won't listen Wake me up And I won't move So why don't you just shut The hole in your face And disappear Without a trace? Speak to me And I won't listen Slash me up And I won't bleed So why don't you just take Your dumb-numb face And disappear Without a trace? Speak to me And I won't listen Beat me up I won't even sigh So why don't you just wipe That grin from your face And disappear Without a trace? Speak to me!

about

"Jesus' Tears" is track #7 and the first single from our album "The Scapegoat's Agony". The album title is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the - for the most part - painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.

Synopsis for "Jesus' Tears":
In his delirious state of madness, the unnamed antihero suffers through a Christ-like crucifixion, vowing to avenge himself on those he deems responsible for his suffering.

"I Won't Listen" is track #12 from our album "The Scapegoat's Agony". This version first appeared on our second demo tape, which was recorded in February 1995.

Synopsis for "I Won't Listen":
In the album’s penultimate chapter, the unnamed antihero puts on full display his cynical disdain for soul-crushing conformism and societal expectations.

about

Coma Beach Würzburg, Germany

Shock, chaos, pain, rage and isolation: These are the thematic cornerstones of COMA BEACH’s music. The very title of their debut album, "The Scapegoat's Agony", an ominous-sounding allusion to Samuel Beckett's literary works, already bears the haunting promise of a highly unusual experience. Lurking behind it all, there is a clear-eyed artistic vision rather than a generic punk rock album… ... more
